This restaurant reminds me why I love Atlanta and its plethora of authentic Asian options. Not pictured is the fried bread with condensed milk which was the perfect dessert to end this amazing meal. The servers were very friendly and the vibes were homely. Can't wait to come here again!

La Mei Zi is A-MAZ-ING. I joined some friends here for lunch yesterday, and we all had an excellent time. Staff took amazingly good care of us, seating us immediately, and checking in on us frequently. One of my friends had the Sichuan Fish. Based on recommendations from the staff, I had the Three Cups Chicken. Absolutely delicious. I immediately knew I had to bring my wife to La Mei Zi for dinner. So that's what I did. Yesterday night I went back for dinner and completely blew my wife's socks off with the Three Cups Chicken--savory & sweet, with garlic, ginger, and basil. It's like chicken-candy. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. The environs are not overstated or garishly done. La Mei Zi is an excellent place to hang out and have a stellar meal of Taiwanese cuisine. You could eat here and order more of the known, "mundane" Chinese dishes. And you would have a good time. But it would be better if you allowed your tongue to do some exploration among some of the lesser-known specialities they serve. Then you'll have a great time. I'm already looking forward to my next visit. Holler if you're coming with.

Ok! So let me start by saying that Buford Highway is my favorite area to get food in the metro Atlanta area. My issue is that the amount of amazing restaurants available can be overwhelming to choose from. So I'm always excited when someone else suggests a new restaurant to try. My good friend heard great things about La Mei Zi from her fellow work colleagues. It's located in the back of a shopping center that unfortunately is under major construction. That did not stop us, nor a crew of other people, from going. The service here is 10/10! They honestly all make you feel like family. It was so refreshing because you can tell that each person that came to our table was genuinely happy to be there and talk about the food. Now the food! Oh my gosh!!! Booooomb! Okay?? I kept it simple this go around, mainly because I was craving some stir fried noodles. I ordered the house stir fried noodles while my friend ordered the house Lo mein. Both dishes, while simple, were outstanding! I honestly think I found my favorite Taiwanese place. I look forward to trying more of the menu items when I come back.

We tried this place on date night and it was very very great. And the portions were nice! -scallion pancakes 5/5 - salt n pepper chicken 5/5 - salt n pepper squid 3/5 (might've had a bad batch) - lamb & leeks 4/5 (some of the pieces were over cooked but all the flavor was great) And we've been back a few times since the first time a couple months ago

Came here for lunch on a weekend, wasn't too crowded. They are doing some construction in the parking lot of the plaza la mei zi is located in, so beware of the parking situation. We ordered many dishes to share. The service here was quick and efficient. They served us tea upon arrival. My favorite dish was the walnut shrimp, the shrimp was humungous, crispy and flavorful! It also tasted very fresh. The shrimp dish was also served with some broccoli. The green bean dish was also good. The green beans were not too soft and not overly cooked. The spicy fish fillet dish was not too spicy and I wish it was a little more soupy like other places, but the one here was more of a thick sauce consistency. The spicy chicken dish was really flavorful and even though it was fried chicken, it was not too oily. Overall, la mei zi is a great place to come and share a few dishes, family style.

The food was excellent as was the service. Everyone was kind, attentive and helpful even making suggestions as needed. Can't wait to go back and try more things! We ordered a bunch of things and shared around the table, family style. Highlights: salt and pepper chicken was a fave for everyone. We had both house fried rice and plain fried rice to accommodate allergies. Both delicious and full of flavor. The scallion pancake was excellent. The kids loved the orange chicken- we had it adjusted for spice. Letdown was the 3 cups chicken. Had to be 3 cups of sugar bc the sauce was entirely too sweet. After while you adjusted to the sweet and salty flavor but it was not a fan fave. The dumplings were hit or miss and I've had better honey walnut shrimp. Overall, I would still call this a hit! Portions were plentiful and prices reasonable. Don't let the parking deter you, give it a try.

So the parking lot is honestly terrible. It is under construction and very congested and you will have a really tumultuous time trying to find parking with all the one ways. Is in a shopping plaza and where it is in a shopping plaza there is really no exit or entrance there because of the construction so you will have to navigate yourself accordingly. The space is a large dining room type area with a big table in the middle (with carryout things stocked on it). When I came in it was pretty crowded and I told the lady at the front that I wanted to see to dine in and she just pointed to the table she wanted me to go to. She didn't actually take me or lead me to the table. She pointed across the room, and I feel like that could have been treated a little bit better or a little bit differently. Along with that I had to wait just to get a menu. I don't even know if they knew I was there for a while, which was really annoying... Sitting with no menu or water or anything. Let me say that you get large portions here, so dont expect to come here and get a kids meal size helping. They feed you like an adult! General Tso - was super good. I have no complaints about this. It came out hot and cooked to perfection in the sauce was just as flavorful and spicy as it needed to be. Chicken dumpling - I have no issue, the dumplings were good. Soft and tender, they hit the spot. Veggie spring roll - spring rolls were good and came with a sauce that really set them off. I would definitely get these every time. Wonton in hot Sichuan sauce - No this I ordered randomly just because I happen to catch another table near me with it. It's a spicy dish, so if you don't want the spice you don't need this. But they had several of the dumplings in the spicy oil and it was really flavorful. It may have been more spice in heat than it was flavor, if that makes any sense, but is still was really good. I would 100% come back to this spot. Maybe I would evaluate when I go because the parking lot is a mess. Especially because they're doing construction right now on it. But at the same time, the food would definitely get me back in the door.

Nestled in the back of Asian Square, La Mei Zi has an extensive menu of Taiwanese and Chinese cuisines. We've been here a couple of times over the last few years, but have been more so recently. The food has been consistent-- no frills, just good food. The taste is flavorful and isn't obviously oily. They have a lot of pick-up and delivery orders. Dining in is nice. It's a simple and relaxed ambiance. Staff is welcoming, and the food comes out in a timely manner.

Pros: * spacious parking lot * sweet and attentive staff * scallion pancake & house fried rice FTW! * beautifully lit restaurant * HUGE menu * kid friendly menu! Cons: * the 3 cups chicken wasn't great, too sweet but i am blaming this on the yelpers lol. It came highly recommended and sadly, it was ok.
